The Woodlands - Hay Road - Builth Wells - Powys - LD2 3YL

We had a wonderful welcome from Eileen and her family - nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were fabulous and food locally sourced where possible. The bedrooms had lovely views of the garden and were spotless. The residents Lounge was lovely - large TV with sky sports (for the rugby!), lots of magazines/books and a couple of rocking horses - but we stuck to the comfy leather settees! When a friend joined us there for coffee - Eileen supplied us with fresh coffee etc - thank you Eileen - we will definitely be back!

My wife and I stayed at the Woodlands last year while travelling north from Dorset. It was the final night of our holiday and we could not have wished for a better end to our break. Woodlands has a classic charm of an earlier age and provided a warm and kindly atmosphere with a beautiful room and superb breakfast to send us on our way. Rob and Eileen spare no effort to make their guests comfortable and welcome. For old world charm and solid value Woodlands can't be beaten, I'd say.

Howard ( Birkenhead July 2010 )

Stayed at Woodlands for one night going to a family wedding in Builth Wells, three couples and two children. Our only gripe was that we didn't book for longer. The house and grounds were beautiful, our little four year old had a ball playing in the front lawns. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the breakfast superb and the welcome was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you. Would definitely recommend Woodlands to anyone.

Jo ( Llanelli June 2010 )

Stayed at this guesthouse as needed to be close to the royal welsh show ground and found that this location was ideal.
The rooms are comfy and clean. I found the staff friendly and welcoming. There was a good choice of breakfast and plenty of it.
